Individual Therapy in Brighton & Hove

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, low self-esteem, stress, or difficulties in your relationships, therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what you're experiencing, and start to find a way forward.

I'm Ellie Bull, a BACP registered psychotherapist offering individual therapy to adults in Brighton and online across the UK. I work with people from all walks of life who are looking for support, clarity, and lasting change.

One of the things people often say after their first session is that they didn't realise how much they needed somewhere to just talk, without worrying about the impact on the other person and without editing themselves.

That's a key part of what therapy offers. A confidential, non-judgmental space where you can bring whatever is on your mind -  the things you maybe can't say to friends or family, the patterns you keep noticing but can't seem to shift.

My role is to help you explore all of that with curiosity rather than criticism, and to support you in understanding yourself more deeply.

What I Can Help With

I work with all manor of different issues, but I specialise in working with adults experiencing:

  • Anxiety - including generalised anxiety, relationship anxiety, social anxiety, and worry that feels hard to switch off

  • Low self-esteem and confidence - feeling not good enough, self-critical thinking, or struggling to believe in your own worth

  • Stress - whether work-related, life pressures, or relationship stress

  • Relationship difficulties - patterns in relationships, difficulties with communication, or navigating significant change

If what you're dealing with isn't on this list, that doesn't mean I can't help. Many people come to therapy without a clear label for what they're experiencing but just have a sense that something isn't right. That's enough to start.

My Approach

I work integratively, which means I don't follow a single rigid model. Instead, I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches, including person-centred therapy, psychodynamic thinking, and cognitive-behavioural techniques, and I tailor our work to what's most useful for you.

Some people want to understand the roots of how they think and feel. Others want practical tools to manage what they're going through day to day. Most benefit from a blend of both. I'll work with you to find the approach that fits.

Therapy in Brighton

Brighton is a city that attracts open-minded people and that spirit extends to how people here approach their mental health. Whether you're a long-term local or have recently moved to the area, finding the right therapist can make an enormous difference.

I offer in-person sessions in Brighton as well as online sessions for those who prefer to work from home or who live further afield across Sussex and beyond. Both formats offer the same quality of care - it's simply about what works best for you.

Taking the First Step

Starting therapy can feel like a big decision. It's normal to feel uncertain, or even a little nervous, about reaching out.

If you're considering therapy and want to find out whether we'd be a good fit, I offer an initial consultation where we can talk through what you're looking for and how I work.

Get in touch today via the form below to book your consultation or ask any questions you might have. I'd love to hear from you.
