Individual Therapy in Farringdon, City of London

Farringdon sits at a crossroads,  between the intensity of the City and the texture of everyday London life. The people who live and work here are as varied as the area itself. What many have in common is a life that can feel a bit ovewhelming.

I'm Ellie Bull, a BACP registered psychotherapist offering individual therapy to adults in Farringdon and the wider City of London area.

Whether you're navigating the pressures of a demanding career, going through a difficult period in your personal life, or simply carrying something you haven't been able to properly process,  I'm here to help.

You Don't Have to Have It All Figured Out to Start
People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. Some arrive with a very clear sense of what they want to work on. Others just know that something isn't right -  a persistent low mood, a relationship that keeps hitting the same wall, an anxiety in the background of everything.

You don't need to arrive with a neat summary of your problems. Therapy is a space to think out loud, with someone who will listen carefully and help you make sense of what you're experiencing.

What I Can Help With
I work with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety and stress - whether that's the relentless pressure of a demanding job, generalised worry, or anxiety that's started to affect your daily life

  • Low self-esteem and confidence - self-critical thinking, imposter syndrome, or a deep sense of not feeling good enough

  • Burnout - particularly common among people working in high-pressure environments in and around the City, but by no means limited to them

  • Relationship difficulties - patterns that keep repeating, communication that breaks down, or navigating significant change in your personal life

  • Life transitions - career changes, loss, identity shifts, or simply a feeling that the life you've built no longer fits

My Approach
I work integratively, which means I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches - including person-centred therapy, psychodynamic thinking, and cognitive-behavioural techniques - and adapt our work to what's most useful for you specifically.

Some people want to understand the deeper roots of how they think and feel. Others are looking for practical tools to manage what they're going through right now. Most benefit from a combination of both. I'll work with you to find the approach that fits.

Therapy in Farringdon
My practice is easy to reach from Farringdon, Clerkenwell, Barbican, Old Street, and the wider EC1 and EC4 areas - whether you're coming from work, home, or passing through.

My therapy room is located at: Studio Smithfield, 1 East Poultry Avenue, EC1 9PT

I also offer online sessions for those who prefer flexibility. Many clients find that online therapy fits more easily around busy schedules without any compromise on depth or quality. Both options offer the same level of care - it simply comes down to what works best for you.

Taking the First Step
Starting therapy can feel like a big decision. It's completely normal to feel unsure, or to wonder whether what you're going through is "bad enough" to warrant support. In my experience, if something is weighing on you, it's worth talking about.

I offer an initial consultation so we can get a sense of what you're looking for and whether we'd be a good fit - no pressure or obligation.
